CEO
Derek Johnson is the proud owner of Johnson’s Cabinetry, a family-owned business specializing in custom cabinetry throughout the Northeast Florida area. With a passion for craftsmanship and a dedication to quality, Derek has built a reputation for excellence in the region. Under his leadership, Johnson’s Cabinetry has become synonymous with beautifully designed and meticulously crafted custom cabinets, transforming homes and businesses with bespoke solutions tailored to each client’s unique needs.
Derek’s journey in cabinetry began at a young age, learning the trade from his father and honing his skills over the years. His deep-rooted commitment to maintaining the highest standards of workmanship is evident in every project the company undertakes. From initial design consultations to the final installation, Derek and his team work closely with clients to ensure their vision is brought to life with precision and care.
Known for his attention to detail and customer-centric approach, Derek has cultivated a loyal customer base that values the personalized service and exceptional results that Johnson’s Cabinetry consistently delivers. Under his stewardship, the business continues to thrive, upholding the traditions of quality and integrity that have defined the Johnson family for generations.
Holly Cimmino
Director of Operations
Holly serves as the Director of Operations, bringing a strong background in business and financial management to the team. Originally from New England, she earned a master’s degree in accounting before relocating to Florida to enjoy the sunshine and warmer climate. In this role, Holly oversees day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, organization, and smooth execution across all aspects of the business. Holly shares two high school children with her husband Dave. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and riding her motorcycle.
Susan Katz
Lead Designer
Susan is the lead Designer at Johnson’s Custom Cabinetry. She received a Bachelor’s of Science in Interior Design from Florida State University. After her 4 years at FSU, she passed the National Certification for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ). She has more than 15+ years in the industry building customized solutions for residential clients and is a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). At Johnson’s Custom Cabinetry Susan oversees the creation of design plans, elevations, renderings, and detailed construction drawings for full scale, multi-room projects. She lives in Ponte Vedra, FL, and is the proud mom of three grown children. Outside of work, you’ll often find her on the beach with her kids and dog, combing the sand for shark teeth.
Dave Cimmino
Lead Installer
After moving to Florida in 2017 from Massachusetts, Dave joined the Johnson’s Cabinetry team and quickly became the lead installer. He has been in the trades since he was 9 years old working with his dad installing flooring whenever he could. He worked his way through the entire home building process where he finally settled into cabinet installation. Dave takes great pride in his work and is dedicated to ensuring all of our clients get the best cabinet installation from start to finish.
Zac Savoy
Shop Manager
Zac Savoy is the Shop Manager, bringing over 25 years of experience in the high-end cabinetry industry. With a career built on craftsmanship, precision, and a dedication to quality, he has become a trusted leader who ensures every project meets the highest standards.
Outside of work, his greatest pride and joy is his family — his wife and their two sons. Together, they are his foundation and motivation, inspiring him both personally and professionally.
Ryan Johnson
Quality Control Manager
From the beginning of Johnson’s Custom Cabinetry, Ryan has been dedicated to making sure every project lives up to the company’s standards of excellence. As Quality Control Manager, he steps in after installations—whether immediately or years later—to troubleshoot, fine-tune, and resolve any cabinetry issues. His ability to find solutions and bring projects to perfection is a key part of the service JCC provides.
Known for his meticulous eye, Ryan specializes in customer interaction during the follow-up process, giving clients peace of mind that their cabinetry will perform beautifully long after installation.
Greg Wachalter
Lead Engineer
Greg Wachalter is the Lead Engineer at Johnson’s Custom Cabinetry. He studied design in college and has been woodworking since childhood, driven by a lifelong passion for building and understanding how things come together.
Greg spent over a decade running a high-end production facility, where he managed operations, upheld quality standards, and led teams in delivering detail-driven work.
Following that, he spent four years in product development and technical drawing for a custom metal fabrication company, where he honed his skills in engineering precision and design.
At Johnson’s, Greg leads the engineering process from start to finish—developing production drawings, refining prototypes, and ensuring seamless execution from concept through completion.
He lives in Saint Johns, and outside of work, his greatest pride and joy is his family. He’s married to his college sweetheart, and together they’re raising their baby boy with the help of a strong willed Westie.
Patricia Kozack
Designer
Patricia is originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico, but has now made Jacksonville her home for the last 30+ years. With over 6 years of experience in custom cabinetry and designing kitchens and bathrooms, she has helped clients bring both beauty and functionality into their homes. When she’s not designing, you can find her spending time with her husband and kids, working as a makeup artist for several industries, or on the tennis courts.
Her passion for design helps bring out the best for her clients. Whether it’s creating a neutral space or introducing pops of color, her creativity transforms each project into a space that feels uniquely personal.
Jay Bergeron
Lead Finisher
Jay has dedicated over 40 years to the cabinet finishing industry, bringing unmatched experience, skill, and craftsmanship to every project. A lifelong Florida resident, Jay combines his deep-rooted knowledge of the trade with a unique perspective gained from his associate degree in psychology, giving him an eye not only for detail but also for understanding the needs of clients and colleagues alike. Outside of work, Jay enjoys fishing and the simple pleasures of peace and quiet, reflecting the calm and steady approach he brings to both his personal and professional life.
